The Jaunty Spot ("we", "us") is a conscious fashion resale platform based in Lagos, Nigeria, at thejauntyspot.com. This page explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. You can reach us any time on WhatsApp on +234 701 016 7484.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account. We never see your Google password.
- Your profile. Things you choose to add, such as a profile photo, delivery details, saved sizes, whether you shop for women or men, and the identity you get from our quiz.
- Your selection and checkout. Pieces you save or add to your selection. When you tap checkout, your name, phone number and the pieces you picked, so we can finish the order with you on WhatsApp.
- Usage information. Only if you allow analytics in our cookie settings: which pages are viewed and which filters are used. This helps us improve the site.
- Information kept on your device. Your preferences, selection and cookie choice are stored in your browser so the site remembers you.
How we use it
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To show you pieces that match your identity and sizes.
- To confirm orders, arrange payment and delivery, and handle returns.
- To answer your messages and keep the site running safely.
- To improve The Jaunty Spot, using analytics only if you agreed to them.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run the shop:
- Supabase stores our database, sign-in records and uploaded images.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Google provides the Sign in with Google option.
- WhatsApp carries the conversations you start with us about orders.
- Delivery partners receive your name, phone number and address, only so your order can reach you.
Google sign-in
If you use Sign in with Google, we use the information Google shares (name, email address and profile picture) only to create your account and sign you in. We do not use it for advertising and we do not share it with anyone else except the services listed above.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is active. Checkout records are kept for as long as we need them to complete orders, handle returns and keep our records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, unless the law requires us to keep some of it.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. Message us on WhatsApp on +234 701 016 7484 and we will help. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No online service can promise perfect security, so please keep your sign-in details private.
Children
The Jaunty Spot is not meant for anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian. If you think a child has given us information, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Our Terms of Service explain the rules for using the shop.
